What if? Draco sometimes thinks. What if I’d done things differently, thought a little more for myself, opened my eyes for once in my sheltered life?
Flipping through the card-catalogue of his memories (another great non-magical invention, for all that it’s fallen out of use), Draco’s outlook gets more and more bleak until he’s curled up in the window seat, blanket tangled around his legs.
“Hey!” Harry protests, arriving home from tea with Hermione. “No moping on a Saturday when the weather’s nice.”
Draco allows himself to be bundled out the door for an impromptu Seekers match. Harry just smiles.
