Author’s Notes: Title from THE HOUSE AMONG THE OAKS. One of these weeks I will be back in control of my time (!).
“No,” Teddy says, poking Harry with his fork. “You’re doing it wrong.” Draco watches as Harry absently wipes the syrup off his arm, even as he turns to listen to Teddy.
He would make a great father, Draco thinks, apropos of nothing. He’s startled by the realisation, even though it’s not surprising at all.
“…I suppose that’s only logical,” Harry is saying as he nods along. Draco’s missed the context, but it doesn’t matter. Glancing across the room, he catches site of Karst, who is coiled along the shelves. Glowing gold eyes spin, as though in approval of Draco’s thoughts.
