Title: the [stillness] of the bedrooms
Author: [personal profile] bluedreaming
Team: ineligible (posting late)
Word count: 100
Characters/pairings: Draco/Harry
Challenge: 734: Obvious
Author’s Notes: Title from THE HOUSE AMONG THE OAKS.

Draco wakes in the middle of the night, blinking up into the dark that swims above the bed. Next to him, Harry is breathing softly, obviously and obliviously asleep.

Draco tries shifting, tries pressing his face into the curve of Harry’s neck, then the slope of his shoulder. He tries rolling onto his back, clearing his mind, and breathing into the space of the room. It doesn’t seem to help.

Finally, resigned, he rolls out of bed, slipping into the warm slippers that Harry gave him for Christmas last year, and drifts down the corridor to the kitchen for tea.
