Sitting in the window, Draco takes a sip from his cup; the tea is cold and he frowns. Karst, coiled on the shelf, makes a soft sound.
“You’re laughing at me,” Draco says, though he’s not offended. He’s been too thoughtful today, the shapes of words spinning around in his head.
“There you are,” Harry says from the doorway. He pads over to swap Draco’s cup for a fresh one, still steaming.
“Is it strange that it feels like I finally have permission to live the rest of my life?” Draco asks.
Harry shrugs. “That’s how you feel,” he says.
