I think Draco is trying to orient himself in a world that he raised to think was made just for him, only suddenly, that's completely untrue. I think he's a scared kid who has very little idea which way is even up. This is why his Grandfather offered him pre-formed thoughts (as it were), why he dumped them on Andromeda barely changed, and why her demeanor when she first opened her door didn't help AT ALL. Lucky for Draco, she's a terrific lady and she honestly wants to help, even if these two are going to find each other confusing for a little while.
