“I would love to see that,” Draco said, laughing lightly. He raised his arms over his head and rested them on Harry’s pillow. The position emphasized his broad shoulders. “The great Harry Potter, following me about the castle like a puppy!”
“Would you now?” Harry laughed. “Shall I start drooling right now?”
Harry expected Draco to smile and tease, but instead, his forehead wrinkled, and his eyes narrowed. “You know, I don’t think I actually want that.”
“No?” Harry said, still smiling. “It would be messy. Everyone else would feel permitted to do the same, I suppose. Such a relief!”

Harry pretended a more serious mien. “We’d need spells to clean so no one slipped and fell.”
“You know, I was joking earlier,” Draco said, reaching down to thumb Harry’s stubbled cheek, “but I’m serious now. I like that you find me so attractive, don’t get me wrong,” his cheeks flushed, just visible, and Harry finally stilled. “But I don’t need you… groveling."
“That’s a relief!” Harry laughed, but then he saw that Draco was not only serious, but needed him to be, as well. “What’s all this about then?” he asked, now wanting to convey that he was listening.

“I find,” Draco said, still calm, still looking Harry in the eye, “your company more enjoyable than I expected.”
Harry tried to cock an eyebrow, but he listened.
“I am surprised to find,” Draco continued, “you might be more than a pretty face.”
Harry thought you find me pretty?, but kept his surprised mouth shut.
“And I find,” Draco went on, pausing for a deep breath, “that this evening is proving to be a great deal more fun than I anticipated.”
“Then perhaps,” Harry said, curiously relieved, “I should get back to providing my share of said fun?”
