Sometimes, when Draco arrives home after a party or function, he’s close-mouthed, lips white around the edges.
Harry doesn’t say anything, just raises an arm for Draco to slide beneath, nestled in the blankets. Draco’s breaths are heavy, jagged in the otherwise soft-edges of the night.
“You don’t have to go,” Harry say. “They’re all just so frivolous, anyway.”
Draco shakes his head, still tucked into Harry’s neck. His words tickle Harry’s skin.
“That’s just the surface.” He sighs, breath fanning out. “I just—”
“Fancy screaming practice in the garden again?” Harry asks. Startled, Draco laughs. The sound is sweet.
