Narcissa was propped up in bed when Harry brought AJ to her. She appeared wan, but her eyes brightened immediately when she saw AJ.
"May I hold him?" she asked. "I am suffering the malingering effects of a curse; it's nothing contagious."
Harry didn't believe she would allow any harm to befall AJ, and he leaned over and placed the baby in her waiting arms. Narcissa smiled at AJ, who reached up to grasp at a tendril of her hair.
"The war was hard on everyone, Harry," said Narcissa, "but holding my grandchild makes all of the chaos worth it."
