Draco runs his fingers along the grain of the wood, smooth beneath his fingers. His other hand is warm in Harry’s grasp.
“Too many coffins,” the coffin-maker says, shaking her head. “Too much work.” Draco can feel Harry’s fingers tense, but the coffin-maker doesn’t say anything about Death Eaters, or anyone else. There’s still a lump in his throat; it doesn’t relax as Harry’s hand slowly unclenches.
“This one,” Draco says, tucking his free hand back into his pocket. It’s nice enough, not that it matters. The coffin-maker nods, making a note in her ledger as Draco signs the invoice.
