Draco stared at his mother in shock. "That...but that's absurd," he sputtered. "Pansy would never harm me."
"She tried to harm Harry when he was carrying AJ."
"So he claims."
"Miss Parkinson is ambitious, Draco," his mother said. "The child you carry is one more tie to Harry. Should you lose the baby, and should Pansy succeed in removing Harry from the equation, she could step in and offer to marry you and adopt AJ as her own."
Draco gave up on his tea. "To what purpose, Mother?"
"Miss Parkinson has had her cap set for you since childhood."
