Harry finds Draco sitting in the study, a roll of parchment furled on the desktop in front of him. Beneath it, resting on his knees, his fingers are curled into fists, knuckles white.
“My mother asks if I will be adopting a more-involved role as the Malfoy son and heir,” Draco says, quiet.
His listless tone makes Harry stiffen, then wince at the twinge that cuts through his knee at the movement. He pulls a chair up to sit next to Draco instead.
“You’re more than that,” Harry says, hoping his words are helping. “You’re whoever you want to be.”
