At first, waking in the middle of the night, Harry figures that it must be his knee. It doesn’t hurt though, not much. Reaching out, his fingers find the empty side of the bed where Draco should be.
“Draco?”
He’s not sitting in the window, or anywhere in the room or adjoining bathroom. There’s a flicker of white in his peripheral vision; Harry turns to see Karst sliding up the bed frame.
“Have you seen Draco?” he asks.
“He woke up,” Karst replies, coiling around a bedpost. “His face was wet.”
Heart sinking, Harry levers himself up to go look.
