Summary: Entering dangerous territory
Harry remained in the kitchen under the pretense of feeding AJ. He wanted to be sure that Malfoy ate a reasonable amount of his breakfast. Only AJ's babbling broke the silence between them.
"The popular consensus is that I should avoid Pansy."
"Sorry?" Harry glanced up. Malfoy's head was bent, and he was toying with his food.
"You warned me not to trust Pansy, and now Mum thinks she means me harm."
Harry reminded himself to tread lightly. "How do you feel about the situation?"
"I'm wondering," said Malfoy as he finally met Harry's eyes, "why you don't seem surprised."
