It’s a complete accident. Harry has an errand and Draco stops by a non-magical coffee shop, because the way the bell chimes as the door opens and shuts sounds friendly.
He’s trying, and failing, to forget about what the family solicitor had said. The papers. Draco Malfoy, the Malfoy son and heir.
“What can I get you?” the barista asks at the counter.
“A latte, please,” Draco says, tapping his Gringotts card on the reader.
“Their order?” the barista at the Conti says.
“They’d like a latte,” is the reply.
They, Draco thinks. The momentary happiness he feels is desperate.
