Potter looked away and blew out a frustrated sounding breath. "I am trying, Malfoy," he said, "but it's difficult to concentrate on the present when I am constantly reminded of what a cunt you've been to me in the past."
Draco calmed himself with a supreme effort. Potter wasn't raising his voice; he was simply giving voice to his anger and frustration. Perhaps it was better that he vent now and get it out of his system.
"I know you're making an effort, and I appreciate it," Draco said. "However, I need you to realize I'm making an effort, too."
