Every time Draco reread them, Mother’s letters... unsettled.

Draco’d assumed that, in treating Harry like a trophy, he could have everything. He’d certainly not wanted to tell Mother about their dalliance, but once Harry had, Draco thought he’d described well to her the tightrope he’d intended to walk.

Draco’d wanted to have fun (to finally be free), and nonetheless enhance his marred reputation.

There was only one boy Draco could fuck and enhance his reputation, but that’s why he’d been willing to fuck that particular boy. If any other boy had offered, Draco would have spat in his face. Obviously.

Harry’d known Draco saw him as something of a trophy. He’d certainly had trouble recognizing that Harry was a real person, with needs that manifested both outside the bedroom and off the front page.

Of course, Harry hadn’t been an ideal boyfriend, either. He’d begun this mess by hideously, repeatedly, violating Draco’s privacy. He’d spun that elaborate sleep-talk lie. He’d written Draco’s Mum when he should’ve had a hard talk with Draco about uncomfortable things.

Probably worse, he’d attempted to rope Draco’s mother into that sleep-talk lie.

Ashamed of himself, Harry sank deeper into his seat on the Hogwarts Express.

Well at least Harry begins to see how much of a fuck up this has been.

Draco needs more time to come to terms with his life, I think he is still very much in denial and hasn't even had his internal coming out, it was wrong of Narcissa and Harry to force the issue, no matter how well meaning...

Harry sure does have some thinking to do. So does Draco. I'm thinking Narcissa can only help, honestly.

well, I think she needs to step back and let the boys figure it out. With her behaviour she is alienating her son and drives him further into defense and denial. So yes she is his mother, but she has also made this difficult for Draco by pushing and as I said she has raised him and has failed to mediate Lucius poisonous influence, going 180° on her son now is not helpful. I guess we agree to disagree on her role here.

Maybe they need to just let Draco walk into the direction of marriage to a witch and realize on his own terms how unhappy he would be, nobody said that this process is easy! Maybe he needs a friend first a female friend maybe?
