Summary: Harry does the mature thing.
After thinking about it most of the night and considering his choices, Harry decided that buying the house he'd liked the most was the best option. It would satisfy Malfoy's desire to live together, while still allowing Harry to maintain some independence. The mean-spirited part of him considered going through with the purchase without Malfoy's input, but Harry chose to do the mature thing. He summoned his owl and wrote a short note:
When you have time, please come see me. It's nothing urgent, just something I want to discuss with you. -Harry
He sent the owl on its way.
