The following morning, Harry slept late and was behind schedule. He got up and dressed, then got AJ ready for the day. By the time he took AJ downstairs, Harry thought Malfoy would already be in the kitchen. Instead, it was empty. There was no evidence that Malfoy had been there, either. Harry shrugged it off. Perhaps Malfoy had gone out for breakfast.
It was mid-morning when Mrs Malfoy placed a firecall, asking for her son. Harry was taken aback. "I thought he'd gone to visit you," he said.
Mrs Malfoy's brow furrowed. "I haven't seen Draco for two days."
