Draco dreams of the manor. The bright corridors and gleaming decorations of his childhood are marred by gloom and the oppressive weight of lurking malice; as tiny feet tiptoe from doorway to doorway, he realizes that everyone is gone. Even the kitchens, when he sneaks though the passages in the walls, are empty of house-elves. There’s a terrible sound drawing near, a sucking breathing—
Draco wakes, gasping. Next to him in bed, Harry is slurping his tea.
Draco sighs, even as his racing heartbeat slows. “One day we’ll finally agree about your terrible table manners.”
“I’m in bed!” Harry protests.
