Harry felt like an idiot and a loser when he woke the next morning and realized he’d never turned his own Muggle Booster Line back on after he’d turned Draco’s new one off the night before. But when he turned his back on he felt like a winner, because Hermione’s hours-old text came through, explaining how well everything had gone the night before with Pansy.

Pansy had welcomed both the mobile, and Hermione’s help in learning to use it. She’d happily contacted Blaise, and agreed that they two were great first choices for Draco to be able to speak with.

Pansy had not found her new mobile all that difficult to use. She’d already called both Hermione and Ron on their own mobiles to test her new skills. She’d even tried calling Harry, and though that hadn’t worked, she’d not been discouraged. She’d just called Ron, instead.

Ron had of course been warned this might happen. He had answered Pansy’s call right away and Hermione promised Harry that Ron had been very gracious.

Harry made a note to ask every witch and wizard he could think of with a mobile if he could pass their numbers to Pansy and Blaise.

Luna and Seamus, he thought, both had such winning personalities. They’d be happy to chat with Slytherins. He wrote that down and stared into space, trying to think of more good options.

Eventually Harry texted Hermione back, then checked Draco’s mobile one more time. Everything seemed to be in order, so he put it back in the box, levitated the delicate structure that was the new Muggle Booster Line, and checked the Marauder’s Map. Draco was in the potions lab. Excellent. He rubbed his hands together in anticipation. Draco was sure to love this, he promised himself, and headed out.
