Harry’s jaw dropped. He could see now, it had been stupid to vanish without a word. But words had never been his forte. He still didn’t have any, even as he desperately searched for a way to properly apologize without denigrating everything he’d worked so hard to put together.
“I’m sorry,” he finally managed, hoping Draco would respond, but Draco just stood, waiting. The silence stretched like taffy, getting increasingly uncomfortable until Harry started babbling. “We’d had loads of... fun? I didn’t know what it meant to you, but I knew you missed your friends, and I wanted… to help?”

Draco gave a nod so small, Harry wasn’t sure it was real. But he still said nothing, so Harry felt he needed to keep explaining.
“When you first came over, it took ages before you relaxed enough to have fun. And you had to get drunk first?”
Harry breathed in deep. But Draco stayed quiet, so Harry babbled on again. “You were so hot and cold? We had fun, then you were angry. You wanted to dance, but you didn’t believe I did…. Anyway, you spent the night, and it was great, but I never felt, er, sure. Of you.”
