Flying is different, now that Harry knows he’s retiring. It hasn’t been announced yet, but management knows, and Draco, of course.
Against the odds, despite the loss, flying is somehow even sweeter. He’s limited to slow flights, close to the ground, but the idea that he has rehab to work through, after surgery, is somehow inspiring rather than bitter.
“But aren’t you angry?” Draco asks. Harry’s broomstick is propped up on their knees as they sit side by side. Harry’s straightening the twigs, motions absent.
“I have so many things to be angry about,” Harry says. “I’d rather be happy.”
