Draco takes a deep breath. “I don’t intend to move back to the manor,” he says. It’s probably his imagination, but it feels like the silence echoes in the aftermath of his statement. He doesn’t dare look at his mother yet, but instead looks over at Harry again, taking comfort in his warm gaze.
“But, Draco,” his mother says, breaking the silence. “This is your home.”
Draco swallows. “You’ve done a beautiful job of restoration,” he says. “The manor is lovely. But I’m just not comfortable here, at least for now.” When he finally looks back, her expression is hurt.
