Draco sipped his tea, ate a sandwich, and nibbled on a biscuit. Across the table from him, Potter did the same. AJ babbled in his high chair, while Livvie snoozed in her carrycot. It was all rather domestic. Dull, even. Draco stifled a snort, but Potter must have heard him.
"What is so amusing?" asked Potter. At least he didn't sound angry or accusatory.
"This," Draco replied, waving a hand to encompass the tableau in the kitchen. "Everything. I always imagined parenthood would be more exciting than this, I reckon."
"Yeah? I'll remind you of this conversation when they're teenagers."
